Help Turn Newtown Orange
Connecticut Against Gun Violence is partnering with Newtown Action Alliance, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Sandy Hook Promise, Greenwich Council Against Gun Violence, The Brady Campaign Southwestern CT Chapter, and the Enough Campaign TO TURN NEWTOWN ORANGE.
Wear Orange was inspired by friends of Hadiya Pendleton, the 15-year-old Chicago high school student killed by random gunfire only one week after performing at events for President Barack Obama’s second inauguration. First Lady Michelle Obama attended the funeral in Chicago. Her school friends decided to honor her life by wearing orange – the color hunters wear in the woods to protect themselves and others – on June 2nd, Hadiya’s birthday.
